UVA president off to an impressive start with ‘Grounds for Conversation’
Scott Beardsley is meeting with the University community across Grounds, the state and the nation to learn about their areas, interests and priorities.

Following his election as the University of Virginia’s 10th president, Scott Beardsley launched Grounds for Conversation, a listening and learning initiative to gather feedback and insights from the University community.
President Beardsley is eager to learn what drives our community’s tremendous pride in UVA and to hear ideas for short-term and longer-term actions to accelerate progress in support of the University’s mission as we work to fulfill the mission’s full potential.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of UVA are joining the president for coffee and conversation sessions around Grounds, at UVA Health, UVA Wise and UVA Northern Virginia, and in cities across the Commonwealth of Virginia, the United States and the globe. Community members are also invited to share their thoughts via an online survey.
Feedback from the conversation sessions and the survey will be used to highlight excellence already underway at UVA, identify ideas and opportunities and inform decision-making for the future.
President Beardsley is working with University leaders, alumni and friends to schedule sessions across our community. Watch for upcoming opportunities to share your thoughts, or share your ideas at any time through this online form.
